About our cuisine - Sylhet সিলেট
Sylhet is a major city in north-eastern Bangladesh and is situated on the banks of the River Surma. Part of the Sylhet District, the city is home to nearly 500,000 people. Sylhet is surrounded by the Jaintia, Khasi and Tripura hills and is well known for its tea gardens and tropical forests.
The city is described as a City of Saints, with the mausoleum of the great saint Hazrat Shah Jalal, who brought Islam to Bengal during the 14th century.
Sylhet Brasserie’s cuisine has it’s roots very much in it’s namesake and perhaps our best known dish uses the famous ‘Naga’ chilli, present in the restaurants logo and, indigenous to the region.
We are very proud of our beginnings and have combined an authentic style of cuisine with great service to bring a part of Sylhet to Scotland.
